Bumble and bumble The Hairdresser Trio

Bumble e bumble is a brand I’ve always admired from afar, being a little bit scared by the high price point of its products. I’ve always used cheaper or at most pharmacy products on my hair, and never felt the need of an upgrade. But you know how it goes, one day I saw this set at Sephora… And home with me it went.

Bumble and bumble hairdresser's trio shampoo conditioner primer

It contains the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Primer. The entire line contains 6 light oils (Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil and Safflower Seed Oil) and the products are designed to soften the hair, de-frizz and detangle, to name a few.

The shampoo does its job really well, leaving hair soft and, more importantly, clean. You only need the tiniest amount to get the right lather to clean the hair without drying them out, and it agrees well with my quite sensitive scalp. The conditioner is a pretty intense one, and with my short hair I have to be quite careful with the amount I use, but it’s really, really good at detangling and leaves hair silky soft. The heat/uv protective primer is great for my color treated hair and, well, smells amazing. I use just a few spritz on damp hair - but can be used on dry hair too - and when my hair is dry they’re soft and silky.

I only have one “bad” thing to say: I expected my hair to be a little bit more responsive to my straighteners once dry, and this doesn’t really happen. Sure, they’re silky soft and pretty shiny too, but I would expect a range like this to help me a bit in the styling department. Maybe I’m asking too much!

Overall, this set is still a winner and I get to add a little bit of luxury to my hair washing process too, and given the really small amount I use every time they should last me a good while!

Have you tried this new-ish range from Bumble and Bumble? What are your recommendations from the brand and for color treated hair in general?

  1. I've been wanting to try this set for ages... but find it quite expensive for such small products so I've been avoiding it so far. Really tempting though, considering I could do with some extra shine and softness to my hair. :) x

  6. I have tried some samples earlier in September and loved them. I have wavy/curly long hair and it made the curls nice and bouncy. If you want a colour-safe shampoo that tame the frizz, Macadamia Oil Rejuvenating Shampoo and Hair mask work amazingly well on me (+the smell is gorgeous).

  7. My boyfriend loves the Bumble and Bumble Styling Cream! I've not tried a lot from the brand myself. I had a sample of the Invisible Oil - it was ok. And I have a deluxe sample of the thickening spray which I haven't opened yet - I should try it out! :-)
