NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush

Let me introduce you to my NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush, which I might start calling the perfect brush.

Nars Yachiyo Brush

I had been seeing this brush in some blog posts and youtube videos, but I could never find it at the NARS stand at Sephora. “Cool, another thing they’re not going to sell here!”, I always thought while browsing the whole range for the millionth time. Until one day I saw it there, waiting for me. I didn’t even look at the price (I never buy too expensive brushes though - the reason why I don’t own a single MAC face brush) and put it in the basket.

Luckily, I knew it was love from the first try: it is simply perfect.
It’s perfect for blush, as it blends not so pigmented blush and really pigmented ones in the same flawless way. I like to tap the brush on the compact and then apply the blush on my cheeks in a swirling motion, and trust me, I’ve never found applying blush flawlessly so easy.
It’s perfect for bronzer or contour, as the shape of the brush blends product itself making it easy to do a subtle contour or a lovely bronzed look.
it’s perfect for highlighter, as the tip is perfect for a precise but well blended application.

I have only one fear: I keep using a spot brush cleanser every time I use it as I’m afraid to ruin the wisteria handle under running water. I must find the courage to wrap the handle and give this brush a good wash!

To sum it up, every time I’ve used another cheek brush I’ve missed this one: an expensive purchase, but so worth it!

Have you tried this amazing brush? What is your most treasured and/or expensive brush?

  1. I've seen so many Youtubers and bloggers rave about this brush, I'm absolutely dying for it! Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up with Christmas money this year!

  2. Hey Gyudy, I'm glad to hear you like this so much! As you know, we don't get NARS here. I have, however, got to feel one when I was in Taipei last year. While I know many LOVE this, the handle bothers me a little too much to actually splurge on it. It's just a little too thin, and like you said, how should I wash it?? My most expensive brushes are my Tom Ford ones, although I still haven't decided if I really NEEDED them. They're good, but the price tag is crazy!

  3. This brush reminds me a bit of the Suqqu brushes Lisa Eldridge uses for blush. It looks so soft and the shape seems perfect to apply blush. Should add this to my wishlist. :) xx

  4. I really had to get used to those handles that NARS uses, but you're right, it is a lovely brush!

  5. This brush sounds amazing! But it's so expensive I don't think I will justify the price. But I guess once in awhile everyone needs to spoil themselves with something very luxurious :)

  6. I haven't tried this one but I recently hauled the ITA (after much debate). I haven't tried it yet and, honestly, I'm afraid to lest I fall in love with this expensive brush range - and based on what you've said, it's very likely. :/ Update us if you wash it, I'd be afraid to as well. Eek!

  7. It looks gorgeous, but I think I'd be afraid of washing it, just like you! Nars are doing a flat contouring brush I've been eyeing up forever as well.... xx

  8. I would so love so,e of the NARS brushes but their prices make me want to cry haha! This looks like such a stunning brush though xx

  9. gorge shades! ahhh the palette is so pretty! the brush is so fancy!

  10. Mine disappointed me, to be honest. All people was saying that it's soft as a bunny and so on, and mine is even a bit scratchy... don't know if I got a bad one or what. :/

  11. Well, I'm a sucker for pretty brushes! Currently in love with my Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder brush which is my favourite allrounder for anything blush, contour or highlight - related! Happy to hear you love the brush, you should be for that price ;) xx

  12. Hello Gyudy,

I had this brush and mine was very scratchy (going back four years ago). I gave it away and in its place decided to invest in Chikuhodo and Tom Ford brushes. I'm so happy this brush is your favorite and your guy is soft, I happen to have loved the brush shape and the handle design.

  13. I've heard so many great things about this brush, but I am so cheap... It is way out of my price range! The brush I've been using for blush is too large, though, so I definitely need a new one... My current brush can make me look like a clown if I'm not careful.
