Empties #5 ft. YSL, Alpha-H and more

Exactly one month ago I shared with you my last round of empties, and today’s post marks three months in a row of me doing it. Has something finally clicked? I know, I only feature 5 products at a time (just like I do with my favourites posts - last one here - to avoid talking about too many things at once) and it’s not that huge amount, but in the end, it’s not about finishing products just to see them empty but to talk about things I enjoyed or not. Let’s start!

Empties YSL Black Opium Sukin Kiehl's Alpha-H

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner
This toner combines Chamomile and Rosewater to soothe and tone the skin, and is alcohol and paragon free. It’s got the most perfect and fines mist I’ve ever met, and my skin absolutely adored it. I used it mostly at night after Alpha-H Liquid Gold, and worked amazingly well at soothing my skin and prepping it for what I was applying next. I’m not repurchasing it yet, but I totally would in the future!

Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturizer SPF 50+
This is the most perfect SPF 50+ product I’ve ever used, and actually need to repurchase. I’ve used the amazing La Roche Posay Anthelios KA I talked about in this post on and off since I finished this (still on my few samples of that as I was deciding what to get next), but I missed the moisturizing benefits of this that allowed me to use it as my morning moisturizer too (you can read my review here) and the soft matte finish.

Alpha-H Absoluté Eye Complex
Now that I run out of this I’ve started missing it. A cooling gel that still manages to be wonderfully hydrating, it so lovely to use in the morning and works perfectly under makeup. It’s hard to see real fast results with eye creams but if something hydrates the area and feels good in the morning (when I always wake up with slightly puffy eyes) I’m happy.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream
I love this moisturizer (you can read my review in this post), has a great consistency that sinks in fast and is truly moisturizing. It hasn’t been enough for me lately though (I always suffer from serious dryness at the end of Winter for some reason), and I’ve noticed some dry patches peeking though during the day. I still like it and would consider buying it again, but I think it’s best suited for normal or slightly dry skin at most.

YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum
This is the absolute star of this post, and the best smelling fragrance I have ever worn. I know, bold claims, but this is how much I love it. Vanilla meets coffee, for a sophisticate smell that I absolutely adore on my skin. How could I ask for more? I bought this on my birthday in October and used it every single day, and ever since I run out of it I carefully used a little sample I’ve been given. I need to grab another bottle making good used of the 20% off that’s currently running at Sephora, but this time I’m going for the biggest size!

Here’s what I run out of in the last month: I hope to make this a monthly feature, because at this rate I feel like I’m making good use of what I have still making room for new exciting things to try!

What have you finished lately? Have you run out of some products you can’t live without?

Incominciamo!

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner

Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturizer SPF 50+

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

YSL Black Opium Eau De Parfum

Cosa avete finito ultimamente?

  3. I love the YSL perfume, as you've seen in my recent favourites. :) I also like the Kiehls moisturiser but I agree that sometimes, especially during winter, it doesn't seem enough. I prefer Clarins moisturisers. xx

  4. Funny the Alpha H Moisturizer has a demi matte finish on you. On my skin it gives a shiny, borderline greasy finish.
Not so keen on the mineral oil, too.

  7. Wow, just for the fact that you've actually used up a full bottle of perfume, you have my great respect!
I steer away from empties posts mainly because of "gelosia" since I am incapable of emptying anything.
(I'm not sure how that Italian word suddenly popped up in my head. I don't speak the language so I couldn't order a simple meal if I'm in Italy, but I can go on love, jealousy, etc in Italian because I learned it for singing. LOL)

  13. YSL Black Opium sounds exactly like my kinda thing on paper, so I've checked it out a few times and couldn't stand it! On my skin, it settles like curry powder. Such a shame!

  16. Hey Gyudy, I recently finished a couple of serums that are staples in my stash (EL ANR and Caudalie Vinoperfect). For the moment, my skin is having its annual spring freak-out. You just reminded me that I have a small pot of that Kiehl's cream sitting somewhere tho. I might have to dig it out and see if it calms my skin down!

  19. Hello Gyudy,

Congratulations on finishing up all those products.

I just finished my second bottle of Lancome Teint Idole 24H Foundation and my tenth bottle of Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Toner. I always feel like I have accomplished some great feat when a beauty related item is consumed.

Now, I must look into this Kiehl's Ultra Face Cream you speak of :)

  22. I've fallen in love with Alpha H after using the Micro Cleanser (which I totally recommend, right now!) so I'd actually love to try the moisturiser! What can I say about Black Opium? I've loved this so much aswell.

  23. I'd love to try the Alpha H moisturiser! Does it have any white cast thats always a concern for me when choosing an spf!

  24. I really liked the Kiehl's Ultra Facial cream last winter! It worked really well for me then. But this winter I also had to resort to more hardcore stuff.

  25. Wow you really did love Black Opium. Can you believe I haven't even sniffed it yet? I KNOW! If you can believe it, fragrance is not something I typically go through quickly and usually have bottles around for years. But that's probably because I tend to switch up so often save a few favorites.
