The reasons why MAC Blot Powder is the only powder I use

The one and only powder I’ve been using for years is MAC Blot Powder Pressed.
How is that possible? Since I’m someone who likes to try almost every new thing launched that catches my interest, sooner or later, this powder has to be really special!
Well, let me tell you, it really is.

Powder MAC Blot Urban Decay Naked Pupa Like a Doll

There are some things I have already mentioned in other posts, that are the things that made me fall in love with it in the first place:
- looks like skin, so never looks powdery
- doesn’t take the glow of the foundation away
- controls oil…
- …without drying the skin out
- it’s not messy: the fine texture is really compact to there’s no risk of touching the compact and load the brush too much

But there’s one thing that always makes me come back to it, even if I try other nice ones: it doesn’t oxidizes on me. I don’t know what’s the problem with me and other powders, but after a couple of hours that always look orange. The funny thing is that foundations never oxidize on me, and the one or two that did in the past have always been fixed with a layer of primer underneath. With pressed powders, there’s always the same problem.
In the past year or so I’ve bought two pressed powders, both times after loving the foundation from the same line: Urban Decay Naked Skin and Pupa Like a Doll. Both of them nice - even if a bit too powdery for my liking - but with the same old problem. They leave me looking orange.

Tell me, does something similar happen to you too? What’s your favourite powder?

Come è possibile?

  4. I don't use much powder as my skin is dry/very dry so I hardly get oily but when I do, I usually reach for Rimmel Stay Matte, it's drugstore but definitely one of the best pressed powder I've used.

  6. I'm still in the hunt for the perfect powder, so definitely will have to take a look at this! If it's so good that you only use that one, then it can't hurt me to try, right?

Yay me making excuses for buying new stuff!

  9. I personally love the prep + prime powder from MAC. On me it stays totally clear and almost doesn't look like powder at all. Have you tried it?

  10. Yes! I'm totally with you on the going orange, what is that all about. I haven't tried this before. I love Mac but I tend to hate their foundations, so I steer clear of their skin products....but you've almost convinced me! I like Perfect Light Powder by No7. Its got hyaluronic acid in, so it doesn't go all dry and gross xx

  11. In my makeup lifetime, I haven't use that many different powders - but I can't say that I've had the orange look problem - apart from when I was younger and use Neutrogena which tends to lean orange. Right now I use the Nars Translucent Powder, KVD Powder or Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and none of them oxidize on me. I should try the MAC at some point though - it's worth a look seeing as how you love it so much! :-) xo
