Sunday's Makeup Look ft. Lorac Pro Palette | FOTD

On Sundays makeup usually turns out better. I am more relaxed, there’s more time to experiment and therefore there’s more chance that my makeup look will involve something more than a line of liner.
Here’s today’s look, with the LORAC PRO Palette and a lovely contrast between eyes and cheeks+lips.

Nars Lorac Hourglass Urban Decay Lancome Kevin Aucoin Kiehl's Dior Clarins Anastasia MAC

I started the face makeup with the Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector, an amazing primer that smoothes the skin giving foundation a good layer to stick to. Then I used the Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation in the shade #010, which is an amazing glowy foundation that still lasts well if set properly. I then dabbed the smallest amount of Dior Diorskin Star Concealer in #002 under the eyes, and then used the Clarins Instant Concealer in #01 over it in a triangular shape to up the coverage level and highlight the area slightly. To set my base in place I used the NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder, that sets everything making it truly dry to the touch and fights shine for the longest time whilst looking glowy at the same time.

On my eyes, after priming them with the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, I used the following shades from the LORAC PRO Palette: Cream all over the eyelids up to the brow bone, Taupe in the crease, Garnet (my favourite!) on the lid, Espresso on the outer corner and slightly into the crease and under the eyes and It Bronze in the inner corner. I then used Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer & Perversion Mascara on my lashes, and I have to say I’m enjoying this combo. I still prefer Lancôme Grandiôse (here’s just the last time I raved about it), but this combo makes the lashes look great! Black and volumized, and more importantly this is the first mascara base I enjoy using. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown on the eyebrows, and the eye makeup is complete.

On my cheeks and lips, I went for cooler shades to add some contrast to the warmth of the eye look. After using Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium under the cheekbones blending slightly upwards with circular motions, I brushed Hourglass Radiant Magenta Ambient Lighting Blush  with my NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush (you can read my review here), and followed with the Kevin Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight, which is the most amazing subtle but glowy highlighter. On the lips, I applied a light layer of MAC Speed Dial (the one I’m wearing in the profile pic!) with a brush to leave a somewhat transparent effect, possible thanks to the luminous and soft creemsheen texture of the lipstick.

Well, here it is, my favourite look from the LORAC Pro Palette. I’ve been loving this palette so much, so maybe another look will be featured in the next weeks!

Do you play with makeup on Sunday mornings too? What have you been enjoying lately?

  2. Such a great selection of products and the end result is amazing, you look gorgeous. I agree doing your makeup when you're all relaxed & have the time is pure pleasure. I tried to get myself a sample of the Kiehls Microblur the other day and apparently all stock has been sent back as the formula wasn't 100% right and they are going to continue working on it?! Strange but I look forward to trying it when it's back in stores x

  3. i have the lorac pro but i never seem to love it as much as other ppl do. but when i see other ppl use it, I'm always wowed by their locks. so ...where is the disconnect? its like i don't understand what to do with the colors when i open my palette even though i've seen all those colors in other palettes before and they are hardly daring. *sigh* don't know why i don't love it...

but, i /do/ love that lipstick on you! :)

  4. I adore the Brow Wiz pencil!! Such a great brow sculpting tool. I've always wanted the Lorac Pro Palette, but I have both the first UD naked pallet and the naked basics. How different is Lorac from those two? Is it worth the purchase?

  11. You look flawless!!! I love the Lancome Teinte Miracle foundation. It's my favoooooooorite, but their lightest shade is still too dark for me during winter months, and I've been kinda lost without it :( I have no idea what to replace it with. Any suggestions for a pale girl?

  12. Spectacular look as always. I haven't used my Pro in a little while - after not being able to put it down for weeks, I decided to rotate. Hehe. Garnet is to die for though. One of my favourites as well. :-)
