January Makeup Wishlist

Wishlists are something I don’t usually write about. I often go on about how much I’d like to buy something when I comment on other blogs though, and mentally the list gets bigger every day. At the moment there are a few things that look really worth getting, so let’s see what’s really high on my wishlist at the moment!

1. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation

Chanel. Blame the chic packaging, blame the cult products, or blame my expensive makeup taste, Chanel aways lures me in. I love the concept of their Les Beiges line, and the product that started it, the powder, is one of my favourite formulas (if only I could find a shade to use all year round as a setting powder!). This foundation sounds right up my street: skin like and luminous, comes with a pump (I was so worried when I saw the first images!) and I’ve already heard pretty good things about it. Not that I really need another foundation at the moment, but this one sounds too good to wait too long to try it.

2. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer

The Mufe HD foundation has always been one of my favourites, and I’m loving the new version even more, as it’s truly invisible on the skin but has amazing coverage. I’m really intrigued by the new matching concealer, as it’s meant to cover really well whilst still being undetectable. I’ve already started hearing good things on this one too, and since my hunt for the perfect concealer hasn’t come to an end yet I really want to see if this is “the one”!

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette

Anastasia is a brand that still makes me feel the thrill of owning and using something cult and hard to get, even if I’ve used more than one of its eyebrow pencils ordering them easily from Cult Beauty in the last year or so. This palette looks incredible, as it has a huge variety of shades and I’ve heard great things about the formula too. I just hope I can still find it because it’s currently sold out and listed as limited edition.

4. Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

I know, I know, another eyeshadow palette? Well, blame the incredible reviews I’ve read in the past weeks, I simply cannot get it out of my head! Full of neutrals but far from boring with the addition of a few fun shades, I know I can’t go wrong with a bit more Urban Decay eyeshadows in my stash.

5. Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette

The first pictures and swatches of this have only been around for a few days, but I’m already in love. It looks like a gorgeous mix of blushes, bronzer and highlighter and the perfect opportunity to try the UD blush formula. Urban Decay has done so well with this whole Gwen Stefani thing, and I can’t help but being attracted by the gorgeous packaging and the great quality of the brand.

Discovering H&M Beauty

H&M is probably my favourite clothes shop. I’m all for basics, and on a daily basis you could probably catch me with a complete H&M outfit. So when I noticed the new shiny makeup area I couldn’t just walk past, and after swatching everything I could fit on my arm I selected a few things to try. Here’s my first look into the new H&M Beauty Department, and just like its clothes… I’m in love!

Cover-up Concealer in Amber

Out of all the base products, this one caught my eye the most. And I have to say it’s pretty great! It covers without looking cakey and I love the shades selection, as it goes from the really pale shades up to the darker ones. I’d say if you’ve got a really light skin tone and usually struggle to find a shade for you H&M should have you covered!

Pure Velvet Cream Blusher in Cameo Brown

I have a love-hate relationship with cream blushes, and they’re often an item that tends to get neglected in my collection. I’m really loving this one though, and I’ve been reaching for it on an almost daily basis, as it blends incredibly easily and doesn’t need multiple layers to show up. The shade is a nice dusty pink perfect for everyday wear, and the finish is really true to its name, pure velvet!

Colour Essence Eye Cream in Dauphine Truffle

Strangely enough, another thing I used to neglect in the past were cream eyeshadows. It probably goes hand in hand with the fact that lately I’ve been able to use them without primer as my skin has got a lot drier than it was a couple of years ago, and so I’ve been using them as a daily quick eye look. This is a gorgeous brown that’s just got a hint of shimmer to avoid it looking flat, and lasts all day without creasing.

Sheer Lip Colour in Dusty Rose

This is a great everyday lipstick, that gives to the lips a hint of colour, moisture and quite a lot of shine. It’s got a lot of tiny shiny particles in it, which is something I would usually avoid, but they’re so small that you can’t feel them on the lips. The formula is great as it’s pretty long lasting for a sheer lipstick and really hydrating, and I think I spotted a few other interesting shades in this formula too.

Pure Lustre Gloss in Urban Orchid

Let me start by saying that I’m not a lipgloss girl, and this one hasn’t managed to really convert me. But the shade was just too gorgeous to leave it on the shelf! I just have to remember to avoid this on windy days and it’s a pretty sticky formula, but it’s amazingly pigmented and doesn’t disappear in just a few minutes too.

Lip Colour To Go in Saudade

I love glossy chubby lip pencils, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s a gorgeous and effortless way to wear a darker lip, and the formula is amazing. Easy to apply, lasts pretty well and is gorgeously hydrating and glossy. This might be my favourite item of them all, and I’ve been wearing it a lot, as it pairs really well with a natural eye for a slightly more sophisticated everyday look.

I think H&M did really well with this new Beauty Department, as it’s a really big selection of great makeup at affordable prices. I can’t wait to try a few more things!

The MUFE Pros | 5 Camouflage Cream Palette, Sculpting Kit & Aqua Brow Kit

There is a selection of Make Up For Ever products that aren’t sold in regular Sephora stores here: that includes some strictly “pro only” products and some that could be used by regular costumers too, but for some reason aren’t included in the more readily available line up.

When I went to Cosmoprof in Bologna a couple of weeks ago I immediately jumped at the opportunity of buying a few of them with a pretty good discount too, and this is what I decided to take home with me. I’m really pleased with what I got, so let’s see them one by one!

5 Camouflage Cream Palette in #1

This palette contains 5 camouflage creams with a dense texture that cover pretty much everything: a porcelain shade, a light beige, a yellow beige, a golden beige and a green.

They are highly concentrated in pigments, so a little bit goes a really long way and therefore they’re perfect even for a more natural but perfected look. They don’t look cakey in the slightest and they stay put perfectly with a little bit of MUFE HD Powder over the top.

I’ve been using the green shade to cover redness and the golden beige shade (which I find pretty peachy) under my eyes. Then, after foundation, I use the light beige under my eyes to brighten, the yellow beige on my nose and to conceal any redness left in I have any (depending on which foundation I’ve used) and the porcelain shade to highlight my skin subtly.

I’ve been loving this palette a lot, as it covers without looking heavy or cakey and lasts well, which is what I need in a concealer. The green shade is really handy if you suffer from redness like me and I like the fact that there’s also a palette (the #5) that contains all the professional correcting shades.

Sculpting Kit in #3 Gold

When swatching the sculpting kits I couldn’t decide which one to get, and in the end I decided to go with something a little bit different as the contour shade in this kit is a little bit more red toned that what I’m used to look for in a contour. The light shade is a beautiful golden toned highlight that is really subtle and finally milled and is perfect for everyday use.

The contour shade needs to be blended really well but it’s something that’s really easy to do, and I find the result really gorgeous. It looks really natural (probably even more that a grey toned contour) and not orange in the slightest.

The other options look great to but this one looked more unique to me and I guess it’s the more universal one that’s going to look great on a wide range of skin tones.

Aqua Brow Kit in #25 Ash

This is my favourite product out of these: I find it even better that my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, and well, that’s saying a lot. And I don’t know why it took me so long to get it as the gel has always been available to me and I’ve always heard good things about it. What makes me happy though is the fact that buying this kit made me get the comb and the amazing brush that come with it, which I think is the main reason I’m loving it so much.

The shade is a really beautiful ashy brown as the name suggests, but it’s still neutral enough to let me wear it without it clashing with my warmer shade of hair.

The comb is great too (and the gel consistency doesn’t get in the bristles too much making it dirty after a couple of days like it happens with eyebrow pencils), and the slanted brush is incredible. It does’t have the typical tightly packed bristles of usual brow brushes, as it’s more dense and they’re a bit unruly. This makes for a really soft application of the gel that would look a little bit to sharp otherwise.

Being a waterproof product it lasts all day, and it’s going to be my best friend in the summer with some MUFE Full Cover Concealer and waterproof mascara for a natural but defined look.

C’è una selezione di prodotti Make Up For Ever che non vengono venduti nei normali negozi Sephora: include qualche prodotto strettamente “pro” e alcuni che potrebbero essere utilizzate anche dai normali clienti, ma per qualche ragione non sono incluse nella selezione più comunemente disponibile.

Quando sono andata al Cosmoprof a Bologna un paio di settimane fa ho immediatamente colto l’occasione per comprare qualcosa sfruttando anche lo sconto disponibile, e questi sono i prodotti che ho deciso di prendere. Sono davvero contenta di quello che ho preso, quindi vediamoli uno per uno!

5 Camouflage Cream Palette in #1

Questa palette contiene 5 correttori in crema dalla texture densa che coprono praticamente tutto: una tonalità porcellana, un beige chiaro, un beige giallo, un beige dorato e un verde.

Il pigmento è molto concentrato, quindi ne basta pochissimo e sono quindi perfetti anche per un look più naturale ma curato nei dettagli. Non risultano mai pesanti e durano tutto il giorno perfettamente con sopra un leggerissimo strato di MUFE HD Powder.

Sto usando il verde per coprire i rossori e la tonalità beige dorato (che trovo piuttosto pescata) sotto gli occhi. Poi, dopo aver applicato il fondotinta, uso la tonalità beige chiaro sotto gli occhi per illuminare la zona, la tonalità beige giallo sul naso e per correggere eventuali rossori residui (a seconda del fondotinta che ho usato) e la tonalità porcellana per iniziare a scolpire il viso.

Mi piace molto questa palette, visto che copre senza risultare pesante e dura a lungo, ed è ciò che chiedo ad un correttore. La tonalità verde è molto comoda se come me soffrite di rossori e mi piace il fatto che sia disponibile anche una palette (la #5) che contiene tutte le tonalità professionali correttive.

Sculpting Kit in #3 Gold

Quando stavo guardando i kit per il contouring non riuscivo a decidere quale scegliere, e alla fine ho optato per qualcosa di leggermente diverso dal solito visto che la tonalità scura in questo kit va leggermente più sul rosso rispetto a quanto sono solita cercare in un prodotto simile. La tonalità chiara è un bellissimo illuminante dorato che risulta molto delicato ed è perfetto per l’uso quotidiano.

La tonalità scura deve essere sfumata molto bene ma è semplicissimo farlo, e trovo il risultato davvero bello. Risulta molto naturale (probabilmente anche di pi della polveri più tendenti al grigio) e per niente aranciata.

Le altre opzioni sembravano ottime ma questa era quella più unica e credo che risulti anche essere quella più versatile su diverse tonalità di pelle.

Aqua Brow Kit in #25 Ash

Questo è il mio prodotto preferito tra questi: lo trovo anche migliore del Brow Wiz Anastasia Beverly Hills, e non lo dico con leggerezza. Non so perché mi ci sia voluto così tanto per provarlo visto che il gel avrei sempre potuto comprarlo singolarmente da Sephora e ne avevo sentito parlare molto bene. Cosa mi rende felice però è il fatto che comprare questo kit mi ha fatto provare il pettine e il fantastico pennello che contiene, e credo che sia il motivo principale per cui mi piace così tanto.

la tonalità è un bellissimo marrone freddo come suggerisce il nome, ma è abbastanza neutro per permettermi di indossarlo senza che stoni con i miei capelli dalla tonalità più calda. Il pettinino è ottimo (e le consistenza in gel fa si che non si sporchi dopo solo un paio di giorni come avviene con le matite per sopracciglia), e il pennello angolato è incredibile. Non ha le tipiche setole densamente accostate, ed è più denso e più “spettinato”. Questo fa sì che l’applicazione risulti molto naturale, visto che altrimenti il gel rischierebbe di essere troppo pesante.

Essendo un prodotto waterproof dura veramente tutto il giorno, e penso che sarà il mio migliore amico nella stagione estiva con un po’ di MUFE Full Cover Concealer e di mascara waterproof per un look naturale e definito.

October Favourites

After a really full week that made it impossible for me to post anything (sorry!), I'm back with my monthly favourites.
I've got a lot of lovely new things to show you, so let's begin!

Smashbox Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette
A versatile palette with gorgeous fall shades but also a set of cooler ones making it perfect for every look and every season. The two bigger shades are gorgeous and the pinky mat one makes the perfect base for a smooth application of the other shades!
These eyeshadows are all buttery soft, they almost feel creamy and the pay off is amazing with no fallout. A total winner!

Dior Diorskin Star Concealer
Here it is, my new favourite concealer. It covers amazingly looking absolutely natural and is so hydrating for the under eye area without creasing. You can read my review here, where I talk about the Star Foundation too alongside a new Rouge Dior Baume.

YSL Black Opium
Vanilla and coffee.
It's pretty much all I have to say about this gorgeous fragrance that made me fall in love at first sniff: the coffee is pretty strong at first, but stays there even when the fragrance dries down to the most sofisticate vanilla scent. My new favourite!

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I was given a sample of this a couple of months ago, and I started using it every night. When the sample run out (after an impressive amount of uses!), I managed to resist only a couple of days without running to the store.
It so pleasant to apply as the dry oil consistency feels amazing on the skin and the lavender smell is so relaxing, but what sold me on this is my skin in the morning: soft, hydrated, luminous... It's the perfect nigh time treat!

Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturizer SPF 50+
This is the product I was less excited about when I picked up the Alpha-H Discovery Collection from Cult Beauty - you can read my haul and first impressions in this post! -.
What's so amazing about this product is that it dries mat in spite of the really high spf but isn't runny like most of similar products from other brands. I like that has a really creamy consistency as it manages to hydrate my skin but the mat finish makes it a great base for makeup... And I've got my face spf sorted! I cannot recommend it enough.

Top 10 | TAG

I was tagged by the lovely Renata of Speaking Beauty UK to do the Top 10 Tag. Thank you! I’m really happy to have the opportunity of doing it since I’ve been enjoying reading it so much! So… Let’s start!

Foundation

Make me choose between million lipsticks, blushers, eyeshadows… But don’t ask me to choose one foundation. I just can’t! I’m a huge foundation lover and if something works for me and there is a color match, I love it. If I had to chose only one though, it would probably been this recent one from Benefit, Big Easy. I haven’t worn it in a few weeks as shade 3 has become slightly light for me, but from the moment I got it until I’ve been able to wear it there hasn’t been a day I wasn’t wowed by it. I have a full raving review here!

Concealer

This one though is quite a no-brainer for me. I’ve always struggled to find a good concealer that covered without creasing on me, and I’d been using MAC Studio Finish for a while without being too sure about it. Then I discovered this gem, Make Up For Ever Full Cover. It covers absolutely everything and as long as you pat it in over a well moisturized area, building it as needed, it doesn’t look dry or cakey. It’s waterproof and I think the reason it holds and covers so well is that it truly seems to cling to the skin as you put it on, and it’s great both on under eyes and on blemishes or redness on the face. A keeper!

Powder

Another faithful fried here, MAC Blot Powder. I have repurchased it countless times and it’s simply the best powder I’ve ever tried. It’s invisible on the skin, never looks powdery and manages to keep shine at bay while feeling comfortable on the skin even in the depths of winter. It’s even lighter and more invisible than HD powders! I really can’t be without it.

Blush

This wasn’t the easiest one to choose, as I’m a big fan of the Satin blushes from MAC too. But NARS it’s without a doubt the best when it comes to blush and this one called Outlaw is simply my favourite. It’s quite a dark and pigmented one so you might need to master the application a few times, but it’s a dark plummy pink with a gorgeous really fine shimmer running through that it looks amazing on the cheeks. A firm love that it’s perfect for the upcoming autumn!

Bronzer

I’m sorry to tease you with a limited edition MAC offer, but since it’s already been repromoted I have high hopes that it’ll happen again. This Pro Longwear Bronzer in Nude On Board it’s my favourite as it’s a true golden bronzer that’s really flattering on my skin tone. As the name suggest it’s really long lasting and the fine shimmer in it makes the skin look glowy without being too much. It’s foolproof to apply and I really recommend you to try it when MAC brings it out again! You can see it swatched here.

Highlighter

I’m really sorry, but it’s another limited edition product from MAC. Again, this one or other shades are pretty regular in their collections so I hope you’ll be able to find it soon. This Whisper Of Guilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish has a really unique texture (almost creamy while being a really compact powder!) and gives the most gorgeous slightly golden glow to the skin. A little bit goes a long way and it can be applied lightly or pretty intensely without looking like a disco ball since the shimmer is so fine. It’s the only highlighter I actually wear pretty regularly, so I had to include it!

Mascara

I’m not sure the one pictured is actually my all time favourite, but simply because I have many favourites from the L’Oréal offer that I couldn’t really chose between them too (this one I reviewed in one of my first posts maybe is the one!). If it wasn’t so expensive Lancôme Grandiôse would have gone straight to the top though: it’s perfect! Volume and blackness at first swipe, I haven’t had a single bad mascara day since I started using it. I reviewed it here, have a look for applications tips too!

Eyeshadow

This was a hard and a easy one at the same time. I am pretty sure my favourite eye shadows come from Too Faced as the quality is just the best, but I couldn’t chose which palette include here. In the end I went for this one as it’s one of my most used ones and has a huge variety of shades (with some fantastic face products included!). The A Few Of My Favorite Things Palette was limited edition from last year but the point here is: read a couple reviews to make sure you’re getting a good one that’s right for you but don’t hesitate too much, you won’t go wrong with Too Faced!

Brows

This was the easiest choice ever as it’s the only thing I’ve worn on my brows in the last year: Benefit GimmeBrow! Perfect eyebrows in a few swipes, and you can fill them in too using the tip of the applicator. I haven’t heard any bad word about it (bare in mind that for brows that need to be draw in places a pencil or powder has to be used alongside this!) and if you haven’t tried it, do it.

Lipstick

Slightly cheating here, but I’m giving you the honest answer. Dior Addict Lip Glow is what I’m wearing on my lips most days! It’s basically a gorgeous tinted lip balm and it gives my lips color and moisture, so it’s really the perfect lip product. If you’ve been hesitant to splurge on this I’m going to give you the final spur to go and splash an enormous amount of money on a lip balm. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Fondotinta

Fatemi scegliere tra milioni di rossetti, blush, ombretti… Ma non chiedetemi di scegliere un solo fondotinta. Non posso! Sono una grande amante dei fondotinta e se qualcosa funziona e c’è un buon colore per me, mi piace. Se dovessi sceglierne solo uno però, sarebbe probabilmente questo di Benefit abbastanza recente, Big Easy. Non lo indosso da qualche settimana visto che la tonalità numero 3 è diventata leggermente troppo chiara per me, ma dal momento un cui l’ho comprato finché sono stata in grado di metterlo non c’è stato un giorno in cui non mi abbia piacevolmente stupita. Ho scritto un’entusiasta recensione completa qui!

Correttore

Al contrario qui posso dare una risposta sicura. Ho sempre fatto fatica a trovare un correttore che coprisse e non andasse nelle pieghe, e ho usato lo Studio Finish di MAC per un bel po’ senza essere completamente convinta. Poi ho scoperto questo gioiello, Make Up For Ever Full Cover. Copre tutto e finché viene tamponato su un’area ben idratata, costruendolo se necessario, non appare secco o pastoso. È waterproof e penso che la ragione per cui copra così bene e duri così tanto sia che sembra aggrapparsi alla pelle durante l’applicazione, ed è fantastico sia sul contorno occhi sia su brufoli o rossori sul viso.

Cipria

Ecco un altro fedele amico, MAC Blot Powder. L’ho ricomprata numerose volte ed è semplicemente la migliore cipria che io abbia mai usato. È invisibile sulla pelle, non appare mai polverosa e riesce a mantenere lontana la lucidità rimanendo confortevole anche nel freddo invernale. È ancora più invisibile e leggera delle ciprie HD! Non posso davvero farne a meno.

Blush

Questa non è stata una scelta facile, visto che sono anche una grande fan dei blush Satin di MAC. NARS però è senza dubbio la miglior marca in fatto di blush e il mio preferito è Outlaw. È piuttosto scuro e pigmentato quindi bisogna fare un po’ di pratica nell’applicazione, ma è un rosa scuro tendente al prugna meravigliosamente shimmer ed è favoloso sulle guance. Un fermo preferito che è perfetto per l’autunno in arrivo!

Terra

Mi spiace di struzzicarvi con un’edizione limitata MAC, ma visto che è stato già riproposto spero che succeda di nuovo. Questo Pro Longwear Bronzer in Nude On Board è il mio preferito visto che la sua tonalità davvero dorata che sta benissimo con la mia pelle. Come suggerisce il nome dura molto a lungo e il sottile shimmer che lo attraversa fa risplendere la pelle senza risultare eccessivo. È immediato nell’applicazione e vi consiglio di provarlo la prossima volta che MAC lo ripropone! Potete vedere uno swatch qui.

Illuminante

Mi dispiace davvero, ma è un’altra edizione limitata MAC. Di nuovo, questo o altre tonalità sono piuttosto regolari nelle loro collezioni quindi spero che sarete in grado di trovarlo presto. Questo Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper Of Guilt ha una texture davvero unica (quasi cremosa pur essendo una polvere molto compatta!) e dona alla pelle la più meravigliosa luminosità leggermente dorata. Ne basta pochissimo è può essere applicato con leggerezza o più intensamente senza apparire esagerato visto che lo shimmer è così sottile. È l’unico illuminante che indosso abbastanza regolarmente quindi non potevo non includerlo!

Mascara

Non sono sicura che quello che c’è in foto sia il mio preferito di sempre, semplicemente perché ho così tanti preferiti dalla selezione L’Oréal che non sono riuscita a scegliere (questo recensito in uno dei miei primi post forse è il top!)… Se non fosse così caro però Lancôme Grandiôse sarebbe andato dritto in cima alla lista: è perfetto! Volume e super nero alla prima passata, non ho avuto una giornata negativa in fatto di mascara da quando ho iniziato ad usarlo! L’ho recensito qui, date un’occhiata anche per qualche consiglio per l’applicazione!

Ombretto

Questa è stata una scelta difficile e semplice allo stesso tempo. Sono abbastanza sicura che i miei ombretti preferiti siano i Too Faced visto che la qualità è semplicemente la migliore, ma non riuscivo a scegliere quale palette includere. Alla fine ho deciso per questa visto che ha una grande varietà di colori (e in più dei meravigliosi prodotti viso!). La Palette A Few Of My Favourite Things era un’edizione limitata dell’anno scorso ma il punto è questo: leggete un paio di recensioni per essere sicuri di fare una buona scelta che sia giusta per voi ma non esitate troppo, non potete sbagliare con gli ombretti Too Faced!

Brows

Questa è stata la scelta più facile visto che è l’unica cosa che ho usato sulle sopracciglia nell’ultimo anno: Benefit GimmeBrow! Sopracciglia perfette in un paio di passate, e potete anche riempirle usando la punta dell’applicatore! Non ho sentito neanche una parola negativa (ricordate però che sopracciglia che necessitano di essere totalmente disegnate in certi punti avranno bisogno dell’aiuto di una polvere o una matita) e se non l’avete ancora provato, fatelo.

Lipstick

Sto imbrogliando leggermente qui, ma vi sto dando la risposta sincera. Dior Addict Lip Glow è quello che indosso sulle labbra quasi tutti i giorni! È praticamente un meraviglioso balsamo labbra colorato che dona alle labbra colore e idratazione, quindi è davvero il prodotto labbra perfetto. Se avete esitato a prenderlo vi darò la spinta finale per spendere un’enorme somma su un burro labbra. Credetemi, ne vale la pena.

August Favourites

Yet another month has gone and it’s time for monthly favourites again! As promised, this month is filled mostly with the things that worked so well for me while on holiday and in the busy times that surrounded that quick break from the everyday life.

The first thing that managed to get into my “top 5” of the month is a toner from Yves Rocher. This Perfecting Toning Lotion, which claims to have an anti fatigue effect, is really rather lovely. It has an unusual consistency as it is rather jelly like while still being able of coming out from the bottle, and it smells of green apple to me. It’s part of the 3 Detoxifying Teas line, and the thing that I really love about it is that gives the skin an instant radiance after application.

Let me now introduce you to the best nail polish of them all. First, it’s from L’Oreal Paris. You know I love their Color Riche line (I mentioned it here!), because there are a lot of colors to choose and I can’t really find a flaw about them. The brush is one of those great big ones too! Onto this shade now, 001 Show In Megeve. It’s the perfect white that looks perfect in two coats (the first one is a bit streaky as you would expect from a true white) and lasts ages. Paired with the Formula X The System (I reviewed it here!) is the most long lasting nail polish ever and it was the perfect choice for an holiday manicure (you can see it here, when I was leaving for Barcelona!). And well, I just can’t get enough of white nails this summer.

My next favourite is not only a holiday appropriate product, but an everyday one too. It’s Gimme Brow by Benefit, and it’s the perfect product to keep eyebrows in place, give them a bit of colour and make them appear a bit fuller too. It literally gives them volume a bit like a mascara would, but the awesome trick is to gently color the skin where hairs are a bit sparse. It will fill in your brows a little bit looking incredibly natural! It won’t work by itself if you’ve got a lot of filling in to do, but if you’re like me and have full brows that only need some help in places this is the one-stop brow wonder for you!

Now it’s the time for what’s been the star of my makeup in the last couple of months. I think I’ve worn it at least five times a week since I got it, and there’s a reason why I love it. Once you get the hang of it, it will be the quickest eye makeup look ever! Day and evening appropriate no matter what, it lasts all day and it’s the most gorgeous mat black. I’ve done a review here if you’re still undecided about it since it’s got some mixed reviews when it launched. The Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner is the only thing I took with me on holiday for my eye make up alongside my mascara, and everyday it took me only a few minutes to get ready for the day! It’s true love.

Last but not least, my HG concealer. It’s the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer. It covers everything whilst looking completely natural: the key it’s to apply only a little bit, patting it gently with fingertips. This way it truly sticks to the skin - it’s waterproof! - and it doesn’t move until you decide to take it off. It’s best to layer it than to apply a bit more from the beginning, but once more if you get the hang of it you will be hooked. I haven’t found anything else that covers so well, stays put without looking dry (my daily eye cream is the perfect base for it!) and without creasing. Another good thing is that this little tube will last forever, since only a little bit is needed. Is awesome under the eyes, on spots, to cover redness and so on. It’s awesome mixed in with moisturizer or spf for a long lasting but natural looking base (see it in action here, and here)!

Here they are, the products I’ve been loving this month. A special mention goes to the products I took with me on holiday as a whole (here!), as they worked so well! The star of the show has been the revisited Diorskin Nude BB Creme from Dior.

I’m already loving a lot of new things, so next month’s favourites already sound rather exciting!

Un altro mese è passato ed è di nuovo il momento dei prodotti preferiti del mese! Come promesso, questo mese vi parlo prevalentemente dei prodotti con cui mi sono trovata così bene in vacanza e nei periodi intensi che hanno racchiuso questo breve intervallo dalla vita di tutti i giorni.

La prima cosa che è riuscita ad entrare nella mia “top 5” del mese è un tonico di Yves Rocher. Questa Lozione Tonica Perfezionatrice, che dice di avere un effetto anti fatica, è davvero niente male. Ha una consistenza piuttosto inusuale essendo piuttosto gelatinosa ma nel contempo abbastanza liquida per uscire dalla confezione, e per me profuma di mela verde. È parte della linea ai 3 Tè Detossinanti, e la cosa che mi piace molto è che da alla pelle un’immediata luminosità dopo l’applicazione.

Permettetemi ora di presentarvi lo smalto migliore di tutti. Per prima cosa. è de L’Oreal Paris. Sapete che amo la loro linea Color Riche (ne ho parlato qui!), per la vasta scelta di colori a cui non riesco a trovare un difetto. Il pennellino è anche uno di quelli grandi! Passiamo a questa tonalità ora, 001 Show in Megeve. È il perfetto bianco puro perfetto con due passate (la prima è un po’ irregolare come ci si aspetta da un bianco) e dura tantissimo. Abbinata al The System Formula X (l’ho recensito qui!) è davvero uno smalto a lunghissima durata ed è stato la scelta perfetta per la mia vacanza (potete vederlo qui, quando stavo partendo per Barcellona!). E poi, quest’estate non ne ho mai abbastanza di questo smalto bianco!

Il mio prossimo preferito è un prodotto adatto non solo alle vacanze, ma anche alla vita di tutti i giorni. È Benefit Gimme Brow, ed è il prodotto perfetto per tenere le sopracciglia a posto, dare loro un po’ di colore ed essere sicuri che appaiano anche un po’ più piene. Dona volume un po’ come farebbe un mascara, ma il trucco è di colorare delicatamente la pelle dove i peli sono un po’ meno folti. Riempirà un po’ le sopracciglia dando un aspetto completamente naturale! Non basterà se avete molto da infoltire, ma se come me le vostre sopracciglia sono piuttosto folte e avete bisogno di riempirle solo in qualche punto questo è il prodotto che in un secondo farà tutto per voi!

Ora è il momento di quella che è stata la star del mio look makeup negli ultimi due mesi. Penso di averlo indossato almeno cinque volte alla settimana da quando l’ho preso, e c’è una ragione. Una volta presa la mano, diventerà il trucco occhi più veloce di tutti! Adatto a look da giorno e più da sera, dura tutto il giorno ed è la più meravigliosa tonalità di nero opaco. Ho scritto una recensione qui se siete ancora indecisi per colpa delle recensioni varie che ha ricevuto appena uscito. Il They’re Real Push-Up Liner della Benefit è l’unica cosa che mi sono portata insieme al mascara per il trucco degli occhi in vacanza, e ogni giorno mi è bastato qualche minuto per essere pronta. È davvero fantastico!

Per ultimo ma non per importanza, il mio correttore preferito. È il Full Cover della Make Up For Ever. Copre qualunque cosa pur apparendo completamente naturale: il segreto è applicarne una piccolissima quantità, picchiettando leggermente con le dita. In questo modo aderisce letteralmente alla pelle - è waterproof! - e non si muove finché non decidete di struccarvi. È meglio stratificarlo piuttosto che applicarne di più subito, ma di nuovo una volta presa la mano non potrete più farne a meno. Non ho trovato nient’altro che copra così bene, rimanga al suo posto senza apparire secco (la mia crema contorno occhi quotidiana è una base perfetta) e senza andare nelle pieghe. Un’altro lato positivo è che questo piccolo tubo durerà per mesi e mesi, visto che ne basta così poco. È fantastico sotto gli occhi, per coprire brufoli, rossori e poi ancora. È anche fantastico mischiato a una crema idratante o a una protezione solare per una base molto naturale e a lunghissima durata (eccolo in azione qui e qui)!

Eccoli qui, i prodotti che mi sono piaciuti di più questo mese. Una menzione speciale va ai prodotti che ho portato con me in vacanza (eccoli qui!), visto che sono andati benissimo! La star è stata la ritrovata Diorskin Nude BB Creme di Dior.

Ho già scoperto un sacco di cose nuove che mi piacciono, quindi i preferiti del mese prossimo già appaiono alquanto interessanti!

Poolside Makeup Look

When I was a guest at my friend's house last weekend we were having a bit of makeup fun and we came up with the idea of a quick photo tutorial.
I had only the essentials with me but with the help of the wonderful Zaira from PuntiLuceBlog the perfect poolside makeup look came to life! Here I will talk about the product I used a little bit, head over to her blog for more photos!

I started by mixing La Roche Posay Anthelios Aquagel SPF 30 with Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer (I use shade n.6): sunscreen is a must and the concealer mixed in gives a natural looking base that's waterproof too. This sunscreen is really light on the skin, I love it!

Then I patted a bit more of the concealer under my eyes to cover that area a bit more (this covers everything, looks natural and stays put) and used my MAC Pro Longwear Bronzer in Nude On Board (I talked about it here) to give my skin a lovely glow concentrating the majority of the products on my cheekbones.

On the eyes I patted a bit of the Sephora Velvet Waterproof Eyeshadow in Beige Rose all over the lid to brighten and add to overall glow of the look, followed by my favourite waterproof mascara, the L'Oreal False Lash Flutter Waterproof. It volumizes, lengthens and defines the lashes without making them hard or leaving residues under the eyes. It is really waterproof too!

The gorgeous Chanel gloss and Dior Aloha nail polish perfected the look with their wonderful orangey coral summer hues.

Here it is, a simple look with waterproof longwearing products that is perfect for a day by the pool!

Lo scorso weekend sono stata ospite a casa di un’amica, e mentre ci divertivamo a fare qualche esperimento con il makeup ci è venuta l’idea di fare un veloce foto-tutorial.

Avevo solo i prodotti essenziali con me ma con l’aiuto della meravigliosa Zaira di PuntiLuceBlog abbiamo creato il perfetto makeup da piscina! Io parlerò dei prodotti utilizzati, mentre sul suo blog troverete qualche foto in più!

Ho cominciato mescolando Aquagel SPF 30 della linea Anthelios di La Roche Posay con il Full Cover Concealer Make Up Forever (uso la tonalià n.6): la protezione solare è un must e il correttore unito ad essa crea una base naturale che è anche waterproof. Questo solare è davvero leggero sulla pelle, mi piace!

Ho quindi tamponato un po’ di correttore sotto gli occhi per un po’ di correzione in più (questo correttore copre tutto con un effetto naturale e dura a lungo) per poi usare la mia terra Pro Longwear di MAC in Nude On Board (ne ho parlato qui) per dare maggiore luminosità e colore al trucco concentrando la maggior parte del prodotto sugli zigomi.

Sugli occhi ho tamponato un po’ dell’Ombretto Velluto Waterproof di Sephora nel colore Beige Rosé su tutta la palpebra per aggiungere ancora più luminosità al look, seguito dal mio mascara waterproof preferito sulle ciglia, il Ciglia Finte Farfalla Waterproof L’Oreal Paris. Volumizza le ciglia, le allunga e le definisce senza renderle rigide o lasciare residui sotto gli occhi. Ed è davvero waterproof!

Il favoloso gloss Chanel e lo smalto Aloha di Dior completano il look con la loro meravigliosa tonalità corallo aranciata.

Eccolo qua, un look semplice con prodotti waterproof e a lunga tenuta perfetto per un giorno in piscina!
