Empties #2

After a couple of months, I have another set of empties to share with you (see the previous one here). I tend to be quite disciplined with skincare and use something till the very last drop if it works for me, hence so many skincare empties and not so many makeup ones! Let’s see what I’ve used up recently.

Sanoflore Aqua Magnifica

This toner is aimed at combination oily skins, and it’s meant to refine the skin and help with imperfections. It was lovely and I think it worked to some extent, but I haven’t felt the need to repurchase it. It contains a lot of essential oils so it smells amazing, but it’s something to keep in mind for sensitive skin.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

You know I love this as I already mentioned it here. It smells amazing and gives the skin a lovely glow, and it’s also so refreshing. It’s perfect to use as a toner in the morning! I haven’t repurchased it yet but I know I will, as I fall in love with it every single time!

Rilastil Multirepair Eye and Lip Contour Cream

I loved this as an eye cream, and it lasted ages too! It’s the perfect product to use at night as it moisturizes amazingly without being too rich, but the times I’ve used it under makeup has worked well too. I already mentioned it here! I won’t be repurchasing this soon as I want to try other products, but I loved it!

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Légére

This is an amazing moisturizer. It gives a lot of moisture to the skin again without being too rich. I used it from middle may till the start of august, morning and night, and it never felt too much on my normal slightly combination skin, all while keeping it hydrated. I talked about it here and here with my whole skincare routine if you want to find a bit more!

L’Oréal Paris False Lash Flutter Waterproof

This is one of the best mascaras I’ve ever tried, and the best waterproof one without a doubt. It isn’t available in Italy so I bought it last summer in Berlin and kept it for the next summer, and it didn’t disappoint. As the regular version, it gives amazing length and definition without forgetting the volume. Definitely one of the very few waterproof mascara I’ve liked!

I already have a couple of things on their way to being empty, so another post shouldn’t be too far! I love finishing products as I know I’ve loved them, or at least liked them. And having space for new ones is the best feeling!

Sono passati un paio di mesi dal mio primo post sui prodotti finiti, e ora ne ho altri da condividere con voi. Tendo ad essere abbastanza disciplinata per quanto riguarda la cura del viso e se qualcosa funziona lo uso fino all’ultima goccia, per questo ci sono così tanti prodotti di skincare e non altrettanti di makeup! Vediamo ora che cosa ho finito ultimamente.

Aqua Magnifica Sanoflore

Questo tonico è pensato per pelli miste e grasse, ed ha come scopo di levigare la pelle ed eliminare le imperfezioni. Mi è piaciuto e penso che abbia funzionato almeno in parte, ma non ho sentito il bisogno di ricomprarlo. Contiene molti oli essenziali quindi ha un profumo meraviglioso, ma è una cosa da tenere a mente per le pelli molto sensibili.

Beauty Elixir Caudalie

Sapete quando mi piace visto che ne ho già parlato qui. Ha un profumo favoloso e dona alla pelle una fantastica luminosità, ed è davvero rinfrescante. È perfetto come tonico al mattino! Non l’ho ancora ricomprato ma so che lo farò, visto che me ne innamoro ogni singola volta!

Crema Contorno Occhi e Labbra Multirepair Rilastil

Mi è piaciuto molto questo contorno occhi, ed è durato anche molto a lungo! È il prodotto perfetto da usare la sera visto che idrata meravigliosamente senza essere troppo ricco, ma si è comportato benissimo anche quando l’ho usato sotto il trucco. Ve ne avevo parlato qui! Non lo ricomprerò a breve visto che voglio provare altri prodotti, ma mi è piaciuto molto!

Hydraphase Intense Légére La Roche Posay

Questa è una meravigliosa crema idratante. Di nuovo, idrata molto la pelle senza essere troppo ricca. L’ho usata da metà maggio fino all’inizio di agosto mattina e sera e non è mai risultata troppo pesante sulla mia pelle normale-mista, tutto mantenendolla idratata. Ne ho parlato qui e qui con tutta la mia routine completa se volete saperne di più!

L’Oréal Paris Ciglia Finte Farfalla Waterproof

Questo è uno dei migliori mascara che abbia mai provato, e di sicuro il migliore waterproof. Non è disponibile in Italia quindi l’ho comprato la scorsa estate a Berlino e l’ho tenuto per l’estate successiva, e non mi ha delusa. Come la versione normale, dona una lunghezza e una definizione eccezionali senza sacrificare il volume. Di sicuro uno dei pochi mascara waterproof che mi siano mai piaciuti!

Sto già per terminare un paio di cose, quindi un altro post come questo non dovrebbe essere troppo lontano! Mi piace finire prodotti perché so che mi sono piaciuti, almeno un po’. E avere spazio per cose nuove è una stupenda sensazione!

My Skincare Routine: The Morning

I love skincare. I’ve been into it from a pretty young age and I’m really thankful for that. I’ve come to know my skin pretty well, recognize its needs and address any issues. My skin is what I like to define as normal: random dry patches in the winter, a little bit of oiliness in the summer, but nothing more. Do we want to call it combination? Ok, I have slightly combination skin. But most of us do ;)

My skincare routine is something that stays pretty much the same over the year: I change the products when I need to, but the main structure doesn’t change.

I was going to do a single post on my whole skincare routine, but the moment I finished writing it I realized it was too long. So I’m going to split it in three posts that are going to go up this week, starting today with my morning skincare routine.

In the morning I admit I really can’t be bothered to go to the sink and do a proper cleanse. Micellar water is my best friend, and I think its fine because my evening cleanse is always a very deep cleanse. My favorite has to be the well-known Sensibio Micellar Water from Bioderma, but I’ve tried many others and they’re almost all fine. This one in the end is the cheaper alternative for me (I stock up on it when I can buy a 500 ml bottle for €13,90 and the 100 ml ones for €2), and I find it the most gentle and effective.

I always follow up with some kind of toner, may it be an hydrating one, a slightly exfoliating one or a facial spritz like the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. This is what I’m using at the moment (I already mentioned it in my July Favourites here), and I particularly love it in the summer because it’s really refreshing and it gives the skin a lovely glow. And well, I adore the smell.

Then there’s the serum step. I use it to address specific needs of my skin at the time. I might use an hydrating serum in the winter (love the La Roche Posay Hydraphase one!), a brightening one during the change of season or a clarifying one all year round if my skin needs it. At the moment I’m using the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel as a serum, because after I started using locally I’ve decided to try a really thin layer all over my face and I’ve been really loving how its effects add to the smoothness of my skin. 

After serum I apply my eye cream, which is the Skin Trainer Eyes from Kiko. Is a lovely slightly tinted lightweight fluid, that keeps the eye area hydrated and ready for makeup application.

My moisturizer at the moment is the Hydraphase Intense Legere from La Roche Posay. It is a really lightweight moisturizer that really packs an intense moisture. I was hesitant to keep using it the summer, but it doesn’t weight skin down in the slightest keeping it well hydrated.

Mi piace un sacco la cura del viso. Ho incominciato a interessarmene abbastanza presto e ne sono davvero contenta. Ho imparato a conoscere la mia pelle abbastanza bene, a riconoscere i suoi bisogni e intervenire in caso di problemi. La mia pelle mi piace definirla normale: qualche zona più secca durante l’inverno, leggermente più oleosa in estate, ma nulla di più. Vogliamo definirla mista? Ok, ho la pelle leggermente mista. Come la maggior parte di noi del resto ;)

La mia routine di cura della pelle è qualcosa che rimane piuttosto costante durante l’anno: cambio i prodotti quando serve, ma lo schema fondamentale non cambia.

La mia intenzione era quella di scrivere un unico post sulla mia routine completa, ma nel momento in cui ho finito di scriverlo mi sono resa conto che era davvero troppo lungo. Per questo motivo lo dividerò in tre parti che pubblicherò tutte questa settimana, cominciando oggi con la mia routine mattutina.

Ammetto che appena alzata non ho la minima intenzione di trascinarmi fino al lavandino per lavarmi il viso. L’acqua micellare è la mia migliore amica, e penso che vada bene perché la mia detersione serale è sempre molto profonda. La mia preferita è la famosa acqua micellare Sensibio Bioderma, ma ne ho provate molte altre e vanno più o meno tutte bene. Questa alla fine è l’alternativa per me più economica (faccio scorta quando trovo la bottiglia da 500 ml a €13,90 e quelle da 100 ml a €2), e trovo che sia la più delicata ed efficace.

In seguito uso sempre un tonico, che sia idratante, esfoliante o uno spray come il Beauty Elixir Caudalie. Quest’ultimo è ciò che sto usando al momento (ne ho già parlato nel mio post sui preferiti di luglio qui), lo amo particolarmente in estate perché è davvero rinfrescante e rende la pelle luminosa. E poi, adoro il suo profumo!

È quindi il turno del siero. Lo uso per andare incontro alle diverse necessità della mia pelle a seconda del periodo: un siero idratante in inverno (mi piace quello della linea Hydraphase di La Roche Posay!), uno illuminante durante il cambio di stagione o uno purificante durante tutto l’anno se la mia pelle ne ha bisogno. Al momento sto usando l’Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing gel di Clinique come siero, perché dopo averlo usato localmente ho deciso di provarne uno strato leggerissimo su tutto il viso e mi piace molto come aggiunga morbidezza alla mia pelle.

Dopo il siero metto il contorno occhi, lo Skin Trainer Eyes di Kiko. È un fantastico fluido leggermente colorato, che mantiene questa delicata area idratata e pronta per l’applicazione del trucco.

La mia crema idratante al momento è Hydraphase Intense Legere di La Roche Posay. È un idratante molto leggero ma davvero molto “potente”. Avevo paura a continuare ad usarlo d’estate per questo motivo, ma non appesantisce per nulla la pelle, mantenendola ben idratata.

Benefit Big Easy Multi-Balancing Complexion Perfector*

I’ve already talked about it here and here, but it’s really the perfect summer base. It looks incredibly natural and stands the heat like no other: I can be melting in the sun but this looks great all day long until I decide to take it off. It does a great job covering minor imperfections and it’s pretty buildable, all while working well with other face products like concealer and powder. It’s love!

MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush

This blush is something I tend to forget about as it gives its best when paired with other products that can benefit from its brightening properties. It gives the right luminosity for an everyday look and it’s the perfect companion for my Armani bronzer. It can of course be built up to a more intense look but I really like to use it with a light hand for a more subtle blush look.

Dior Addict Lip Glow

My failsafe stop for the days I don’t want to wear a nude but don’t feel anything else either. It can be worn as a soft wash of pink and benefit from its glossy finish and hydrating properties or it can be built up as a pretty bright pink. It’s the most comfortable lip product ever, it’s one of the few things that never leave my bag and it’s something I couldn’t live without.

FormulaX The System*

I talked about FormulaX here, and I still think is the best thing ever. When I use it my nails feel and look healthy and my nail polish lasts the longest ever no matter the formula. The top coat is also a fast drying one that makes it impossible to smudge after the standard 15-20 minutes I spend at my computer after applying nail polish. The cleanser is still a bit of a question point for me but if the whole system is working I assume it does something too.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

I haven’t used this for months letting my last bottle sit unopened when I realized it was the only toner-like product in my stash at the moment. The very first spritz reminded me why I got so caught up into the hype and I’m already addicted to the smell and the refreshing feeling it gives all over again. I use it before my serum morning and night and it gives the most lovely glow to the skin.

Benefit Big Easy Multi-Balancing Complexion Perfector*

Ne ho già parlato qui e qui, ma è davvero il perfetto fondotinta estivo. L’effetto è incredibilmente naturale e resiste al caldo come nessun altro: posso sciogliermi sotto i sole ma questo rimane perfetto tutto il giorno finché non decido di toglierlo. Copre benissimo piccole imperfezioni ed è abbastanza stratificabile, tutto funzionando bene con altri prodotti come correttore e cipria. Lo adoro!

MAC Dainty Mineralize Blush

Tendo a dimenticarmi di questo blush perché da il meglio di se quando combinato con altri prodotti che possono beneficiare della sua capacità di illuminare l’incarnato. Dà la giusta luminosità per un trucco da tutti i giorni ed è il compagno perfetto del mio bronzer Armani. Può ovviamente essere reso più intenso applicandolo in più di uno strato ma mi piace molto usato con una mano più leggera per un effetto meno evidente.

Dior Addict Lip Glow

Il prodotto perfetto per i giorni in cui non ho voglia di indossare il solito nude ma non mi sento nemmeno di indossare un colore in particolare. Può essere indossato come un leggero strato leggermente rosato per beneficiare delle sue proprietà idratanti e del finish glossy o può essere riapplicato fino a farlo diventare un rosa piuttosto acceso. È il prodotto labbra più confortevole che ci sia, è uno dei pochi prodotti che non lasciano mai la mia borsa e non posso davvero farne a meno.

FormulaX The System*

Ho parlato di Formula X qui, e continuo a pensare che sia davvero eccezionale. Quando lo uso le mie unghie appaiono molto più sane e lo smalto dura davvero a lungo qualunque sia la formula. Il top coat è as asciugatura rapida e rende impossibile rovinare lo smalto dopo i miei standard 15-20 minuti al computer dopo l’applicazione. Il detergente è ancora un po’ un punto di domanda ma visto che il sistema sta funzionando suppongo che faccia abbia anche lui qualche effetto.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

Non l’ho usato per mesi lasciando la mia ultima confezione giacere chiusa nell’armadio finché non ho realizzato che si trattava dell’unico prodotto con funzione di tonico in mio possesso al momento. Al primo spruzzo mi sono ricordata perché mi feci catturare dal rumore che lo circondò e non posso di nuovo fare a meno del profumo e della sensazione di freschezza. Lo uso prima del siero mattino e sera e dà davvero una luminosità fantastica alla pelle.

Eccoli qua, i miei prodotti preferiti del mese di luglio. Il prossimo mese sarà pieno di prodotti adatti al viaggio e ci potrebbero essere alcune scoperte fatte in vacanza, almeno spero! Quali sono stati i prodotti che avete amato di più questo mese?
